It’s that time of year once again, time to recognize local residents who have been selected by their peers to represent the best of the best, as far as civic achievement is concerned.
The Lake County Chamber of Commerce will present the 67th edition of the even ton Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Lakeview Elks Lodge. The night starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 8 p.m.
The theme for this year’s event is “Lights, Silver Sage- It’s Moonlight on the High Desert.” Patty Barnhart will serve as the guest speaker for the event, sharing samplings from her collections of short stories as well speaking about the Willow Springs Guest Ranch.
John Bogardus will serve as the master of ceremonies.
Susie Cahill will once again perform a piano bar for an ambient musical background.
Awards issued that night include Junior and Senior First Citizen of the Year, Educator of the Year, Merchant of the Year, Special Citizen and the presidential award.
Plenty of raffle prizes will be given away during the course of the evening, along with a live auction for an African Safari trip.
