Arlene Mae Hanks, 82, died at the Lake District Hospital on Friday, June 7, 2013.
She was born to John and Grace (Sampson) Kemry in Steamboat Springs, Colo. on Feb. 19, 1931.
Arlene moved with her family to Paisley from Colorado in the early 1940’s. She attended the Paisley schools.
While living in Lakeview she met and married James Donald Hanks on April 17, 1975 in Winnemucca, Nev.
Her work experience was quite varied. She worked for Dame’s Moulding, did housekeeping for Lakeview Lodge Motel and in-home adult care through the Lake County Senior Center.
Arlene’s favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and taking care of her beautiful garden. She also enjoyed crafts, especially needle work.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; brothers LeRoy Kemry, Robert Kemry, Herbert Kemry and Frank Kemry; sister, Margaret McLain.
Arlene is survived by sons Gary Atchley of Lewiston, Idaho and David Homen of Sparks, Nev.; daughters Donna Valentine and Sharon Evans of Rockport, Texas; brothers Donald Kemry of Medford and Dwayne Kemry of Eagle Point; sisters Emogene Marie Haynes of Redmond, Betty Lou Earlywine of Arizona and Patricia Ann Dunbar of Lakeview; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; very large extended family.
At Arlene’s request, no services will be held.
