Creative types are sought for an ‘Artisan’s Alley’ feature at this year’s Paisley Mosquito Festival, scheduled for the weekend of July 25-27.
A new feature for this year, both display items and vendors offering their items for sale are sought for this year’s festival. Those simply displaying their creative goods will be allowed to show for free, while vendors will be charged a nominal fee to sell their wares.
Artisan items could include woodworking, paintings, sculpting, china painting and anything handcrafted of a creative nature.
The ‘Artisan’s Alley’ will be located in the block near the Paisley library branch, with sufficient participant numbers deeming a designated location.
This year’s Mosquito Festival will also feature a focus on kids’ events, yet also retaining such traditional features as the parade through the downtown area.
The old-fashioned pit barbecue will return this year, with the Volunteers in Paisley (VIPs) serving up the barbecue lunch in the Paisley School cafeteria.
A geocaching event is currently in development as a new addition.
Organizations and 4-H clubs with Paisley School will help with this year’s event, sharing the net proceeds on a 50-50 split with ongoing vector control efforts for the community.
