Barry Joseph Morris

Barry Joseph Morris, 30, died as the result of an accident, while driving his UPS delivery truck, in Crosby, N.D. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.

Barry was born to Ben and Patty Morris in Lakeview on Aug. 25, 1983. After graduating from Lakeview High School in 2002, he attended Lane Community College in Eugene for two years. He stayed in Eugene for a few years working at various mill jobs before returning to Lakeview in 2009. He spent some time living and working on his Dad’s farm in Denio and eventually ended up working on the Pipeline.

Barry moved to Williston, N.D. in 2011 to look for work in the oil fields. He finally accepted a job driving for United Parcel Service and was very happy with his new position. He and Sadie Lynn Jason were married in Williston on Oct. 11, 2013.

Barry enjoyed sharing his great artistic talent with others. He was a real “people person” who thoroughly loved being with and helping others. His huge smile and unforgettable laugh was evidence of his contentment with life.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Walter and Elizabeth Webster and paternal grandmother, Helen Morris and grandfather, Ed Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie of Williston; daughter, Zoe Rose of Williston; parents, Ben and Patty Morris of Lakeview; brother, Shawn Morris of Lakeview; sister, Aileen Morris of Portland and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Holy Rosary Service will be at the Desert Rose Funeral Chapel on Friday, Nov. 22. 2013 at 7 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. with committal in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Following the services a potluck dinner will be served in the St. Patrick Parish Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Desert Rose Funeral Chapel is in charge of the  arrangements.

  1. I got to know Barry through his job and mine! He was the sweetest young man, with a beuatiful smile and heart.
    Barry will be deeply missed in our town. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends & family. Going to miss you Barry!!Rest in Peace!

    Paul and I were devastated to hear about the loss of this fine young man. Paul worked with Barry on the Pipeline and thoroughly
    enjoyed him. A hard working soul, with a great sense of humor, he will be missed and the world has lost a Prince. God Bless his family.

    • Paul and Brenda Scott… Barry said all the time how much he enjoyed working with the people on the pipeline. He said that there were so many good people working there. We are devastated too.   3. We are in shock and devastated!!! Nick thought a lot of tacklebox (how we knew him) on the Oregon job and that guy definately has angel wings..rip buddy♥

    • He loved that nickname. We haven’t had the heart to turn his cell phone off because we call it and it says “This is tacklebox… leave a message” … it makes me cry.
