During the final league scheduled home game for both the boys and girls basketball teams, the Lakeview High School Booster Club helped round out the event by hosting giveaways and raffles to coincide with the outpouring of support. In addition, they also used the opportunity to name their newest members into the Lakeview Booster Club Hall of Fame for the 2012-2013 season.
As the seniors were celebrated in between games for Senior Night, so were the recipients of the Awards at the halftime of the boys game. Handed out by Booster Club Vice Pres. Denise Thorstead and Sec. Angie Forbes, those members who gave extensively of their time and effort were awarded plaques indicating their inclusion into the Hall of Fame.
Their first inductee was Max Corning. A parent representative for Cross Country, Band and Track, he also has served as the head timer for home track meets as well as Mile High Striders’ races.
The second plaque went to the Lakeview Lions Club, received by Ann Murphy, Tom Burkholder and Andy Peavy, LHS Athletic Director Steve Prock said, “They have been a major contributor to projects (and facilities) at the schools, such as track renovation, football stadium, concession stand and baseball/softball fields. Most recently, the Lion’s Club assisted in the purchase of automated external defibrillator devices at the grade schools.”
