Christmas Valley’s Run to the Desert Car Show promises to bring some classic and unusual rides to north Lake County on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Flowerree Amphitheater parking lot.
The fun starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m., with a wide assortment of cars and trucks on display for crowds to view while enjoying food, live music, raffle items and a 50/50 raffle. Taking place in conjunction with the Second Annual Christmas Valley Music Festival, the Run to the Desert will have some of the top Oregon car clubs converging on Christmas Valley for the festivities.
Awards will be given out to the top cars in two categories; 1978 and older, and open class. The cost of entering a car in the show is $20, while the event is free for spectators.
Proceeds from the Run to the Desert will benefit the Oregon Outback Humane Society, which holds spay and neuter clinics throughout Lake County to help control pet and stray animal populations. The Run to the Desert is sponsored by Holiday Tree Farms in Corvallis.
