Clayton A. Shults, 92, died at the Providence Hospital in Medford on Monday, March 18, 2013 following a brief illness.
Clayton was born March 4, 1921 in Ekalaka, Mont. to Harold and Elizabeth (Talkington) Shults. He came to Lakeview with his family as a small boy and lived here except for his time served in the US Coast Guard. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in September of 1942 and was honorably discharged in April of 1944.
Clayton owned and operated a ranch at Westside for many years while working as a tree grader for the USFS. Following his retirement from the USFS he continued to live on his ranch at Westside.
He is survived by nephews Mike and Mary Margaret Shults of Lakeview and Vincent Shults of Portland; niece Ellen and Duane Utley of Anchorage, AK.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at the family plot at the Westside Cemetery.
