A meeting focused on air-quality related issues will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at the Lake County Senior Center, located at 11 N. G St.
The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.
The emphasis of this meeting will focus on the development of local solutions for the air quality issue, and avoiding federal sanctions should a formal ‘non-attainment’ designation be issued by the EPA.A specific component of discussion includes requested voluntary restricted use of wood stoves on ‘red’ and ‘yellow’ days.
The PM Advance Committee is working on a five-year plan to avoid this potential designation and meet air quality standards.
The committee held an initial public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 19, which initiated the conversation on the extent of the air quality issue with the community.
