Construction on MC Chuckwagon site

April 2, 2013 by

Motorists and pedestrians passing through town near the junctions of Hwys 140 and 395 may have noticed a certain absence last week.

Work crews completed the demolition of the building on the island near the highway junction in preparation for construction of a monument that will memorialize the historic former MC Ranch.

Town Mgr. Ray Simms noted during the Tuesday, March 26, Town Council meeting that the demolition work had been underway that day.  Work crews with Lakeview Redi-Mix tore down the building that previously housed a number of businesses over the years.

The site housed a number of service stations, he said, along with a dance studio and liquor store in more recent years.
