Convention of States – Article V

I believe our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt, attacks on our first, second and fourth amendment rights, combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

At the same time, I am confident that Article V in our U.S. Constitution gives us a solution as big as the problem. Our nation’s Founding Fathers knew the Constitution might have to change and for this reason they provided two ways for Constitutional amendments to be proposed and ratified; first, through Congress and second, through the states.

Recent Congressional approval ratings are around nine percent, which clearly indicates that most of us believe Congress acts in their own interest and not the will of the people. It is time that the people of America act on their opinion of Congress. It is time that the scale of power be balanced and brought more in line with a civil society – where the individual has more authority over their own lives as guaranteed in our U. S. Constitution.

Citizens for Self-Governance is a national organization that has started a project to bring about the limitation of federal authority. The Convention of States Project has formed and needs concerned citizens to volunteer in order to halt the federal government’s abuse of power. I welcome you to join me in becoming part of the solution.

    Ms. Bowen,

Thank you for your service to Oregon residents. We must return self governance to the citizens of this nation. The Framers put this emergency clause, Article V, in the Constitution, for such a time as today. Each and every one of us are called to stand at this time. I appreciate that you are willing to take such a stance and serve Oregon residents.

    In Liberty,
