On Saturday, Feb. 15, the Cowboys played the Paisley Broncos, in a Mountain Valley League game, North Lake beating Paisley 47-21.
“The boys came out ready to play, and we were able to take an early lead, and were able to keep the lead going,” commented head coach Brian Baker.
He indicated that the Cowboys shot much better than in the three previous games, hitting seven 3-point shots. He also went on to say that due to the lead they got early he was able to play everybody on the bench, which was a very valuable experience for his players.
On Friday, Feb 14, the Cowboys traveled to Klamath Falls to battle against Triad. A big third quarter by Triad led to a loss for the Cowboys in a 64-28 Mountain Valley League play.
Ethan Murphy led North Lake with 12 points.
“Triad has always had a tough team, and they play extremely well at home. We played tough and worked hard,” said head coach Brian Baker.
“We only had nine turnovers which is good for us against a team like Triad,” he went on to say. Baker goes on to say the problems in the latest few games have been their shooting percentage. “Shooting 25 percent, it’s very hard to win when you can’t score,” Baker commented.
Cameron McCord scored six points and contributed four rebounds and two steals.
The North Lake Cowboys will face off against Gilchrist on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at Gilchrist.
