As the season continues to throw trying times against the boys basketball team of North Lake School, they suffered two more defeats in the closing weeks of the season. However, Head Coach Brian Baker remains confident and positive of their growth, proving time and again the strides that they have made.
Facing the Grizzlies of Gilchrist on Friday, Jan. 25, they lost in a tight game 70-64. Baker had almost nothing but good things to say about their performance.
“We played the best team ball we’ve played all year,” he said.
He praised their ability to work together with a cohesive goal, bringing energy to the forefront. “They really are coming together.”
The largest thing that stood in their way from winning against the Grizzlies was found at the free throw line. “We were eight for 30 from the line,” Baker said, “We beat them in every other category except that one.”
