The Cowboys from North Lake roped their first victory on Friday, Sept. 20 at a home game against Falls City. So far the North Lake football team has lost two league games to Elkton and Hosanna Christian, not scoring a single touchdown.
This time, the Cowboys turned around and scored 46 points to the Falls City Mountaineers’ 38, making most of their touchdowns in the first quarter.
The Cowboys stood 24 to 18 by the end of the first quarter, following that up by scoring 14 points in the second quarter against the Mountaineers’ none. By half time, the score was 38 to 18 in the North Lake team’s favor.
The Cowboys scored their last touchdown in the third quarter, setting their final score at 46 points. The Mountaineers made a comeback then, scoring a single touchdown in the third and two in the final quarter.
Still, the Falls City team didn’t manage to equalize the score by the end of the game, ending a touchdown or two away from overtime or victory.
