The North Lake Cowgirls, a relatively new ball club in the North Lake community, put to bed a rough season on Wednesday, April 24 via a doubleheader at Prospect/Butte Falls.
The girls lost both games by a combined score of 57-0, which was not a welcomed sight for the program. The girls did their best in the effort, losing the first game 29-0, and losing the second game 28-0. There were no scores registered by North Lake, and the hits they did manage were fruitless in nature.
With no more games scheduled for the season, as Saturday’s opponents were forced to forfeit due to an insufficient amount of players by Gold Beach, the Cowgirls get an early start to the summer and possibly make some improvement in the summer.
With North Lake being so far from leagues, however, the likelihood of the girls getting in some extra practice during the summer looks bleak.
