The North Lake girl’s volleyball team lost to Prospect at home on Friday, Oct. 11, 3-1, losing Saturday, Oct. 12, by three games to two against the Central Christian Tigers.
North Lake volleyball coach Dan Ward said the Prospect team was pretty good, and the North Lake girls played pretty tough against them. The North Lake girls lost their first two games against Prospect 25-20 and 25-17, winning 25-17 in the third game and losing the fourth 25-19.
“It was a pretty solid game,” said Ward, “The girls made a few mistakes, but we were right in there with the other team.” Friday was the North Lake homecoming game, and Ward said it was apparent the girls hadn’t had enough sleep before their Saturday match.
“They made a lot of mistakes,” said Ward, “They started slow, and after missing eight serves in the last game, they didn’t have enough gas in the tank to finish.” The North Lake team lost 25-23 in their first game, won 25-20 in their second and third games, then lost 25 -15 and 15-9 in their fourth and final games.
The North Lake team will have three more games this next week, having to beat Paisley and Gilchrist to make it to the playoffs.
