Flu season took a toll on the Cowgirls of North Lake School as they played their second to last games of the season. As the whole school had to shut its doors for three days in the week of Feb. 4, the girls basketball team toughened up and still played the two games slated for them. Unfortunately, they lost both.
“We had four girls sick and two were starters,” said Head Coach Tracey Fivecoat. “They were tough teams, but we are a young team as I’ve said all season.”
They hosted Triad on Friday, Feb. 8 and though they picked up steam through the game, they lost, 52-23. Fivecoat pointed out the success of junior Noelle Fine who led the game with ten points. “She’s started to see the areas that are open to her,” she said.
