Cowgirls put in mileage

North Lake’s latest volleyball exploits included a game against Gilchrist at North Lake School, an away game against Butte Falls, and tournaments for both the varsity and junior varsity teams over the weekend.  The Gilchrist game took place on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with the team travelling to Butte Falls on Friday, Oct. 4 and junior varsity heading for Gilchrist on Saturday, with the varsity girls heading to Prineville.

The varsity girls lost their match against Gilchrist three to one during the week, with Gilchrist scoring 25-20, 25-12 and 25-15 in the first, third and fourth games, while North Lake won the second game 25-19.  North Lake then beat Butte Falls 3 to 0.

The varsity girls struggled in pool play during their weekend tournament according to their coach, Dan Ward.  There were seven teams at the tournament, and North Lake ended up playing Redmond’s JV, who they beat 3 to 0 and Monument/Spray’s team, who North Lake lost two to one to.
