Cowhorse classic set for June 22

Lake County’s Spring Cowhorse Classic will take place on Sunday, June 22 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, starting at 9 a.m.

Despite rumors of its possible cancelation, a local ranch in Adel will provide the necessary cattle to ensure a top-notch show. The event consists of several show classes, including snaffle bit class, reining class, youth class, limited class, bridle class and ranch horse class. There are also three-man team events in doctoring and sorting. Contestants are required to bring their own horse, and are judged on their horse-riding and cow-working abilities.

There are no admission costs for spectators to attend, with entry fees varying depending on class. The event draws some of the best local ranch hands showcasing their tremendous skills.

For contestant registration, entry fees or other information please contact Janet Pennington at 541-219-1190 or via email at lakeviewcowhorse@yahoo.com.
