This year’s Dr. Daly Days Community Health Fair event, for which “Health is Wealth” is a running theme, is set for Saturday, June 21, on the campus of Lake District Hospital.
This year’s fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features free admission. The event also serves as the opening kickoff for the Lakeview Saturday Market.
Among the highlights are numerous vendor booths featuring information on community and health services, emergency services and nutrition.
There will also be numerous door prizes and giveaways donated by local businesses, including a barbecue grill and a pair of Adirondack chairs donated by True Value, an umbrella with stand donated by ProBuild and a Samsung 7-inch Galaxy tablet donated by Lake Health District.
From 8 to 11 a.m., health screenings will be available for a nominal lab fee of $25. These screenings will include blood pressure as well as a glucose and lipid panel, inclusive of cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Participants must fast prior to participating in the screenings.
A tri-tip barbecue lunch will be available from Gary and Shelley McCleese, and a kids zone featuring a bounce house, jousting, face painting and numerous giveaways will also be part of the festivities.
Those that bring a can of donated food for the Lake County Food Share program will receive one free raffle ticket. Other highlights will include a free mini massage by Abby’s Healing Hands and specials ranging between 20 and 40 percent off at the Sunshine Gift Shop.
