The Lakeview Booster Club recently announced a forthcoming donkey basketball night set for Wednesday, March 5, in the Lakeview High School gymnasium.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with games slated to start at 6 p.m.
Admission prices are $8 for advance adult tickets and $9 at the door, $6 for advance student tickets and $7 at the door, $4 for advance child tickets (grades k through 6) and $5 at the door. Children four years and younger are admitted free. Advance tickets are available at Les Schwab Tire Center, located at 422 N. F St.
A total of ten teams will each play an 8-minute game, all vying for 2014’s Donkey Basketball championship title.
Each team has at least five players, with four riding donkeys and the fifth player as a center to pass and help grab loose balls. In the event of a tie, there will be a free-throw contest to determine the overall winner.
Teams committed to the night Les Schwab, Lakeview schools faculty, Lake County School District No. 7, Lake District Hospital, Lake County Youth Mentor Program, local law enforcement and county officials, Plush/Adel, Warner Creek Correctional Facility, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and more.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit local extracurricular programs and clubs.
