Dorothy Cecilia Lowrance, 69, died at the Lake District Hospital on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Dorothy was born to Cecil and Dorothy (Spannagel) Stacy in Colby, Kansas on Oct. 28, 1943. The family moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where she lived for a short time before moving to the Bay Area, settling in Novato where she completed her education.
She married James Richard Lowrance in Lake Side, Calif. on Feb. 15, 1964. They had made their home in Lakeview since 1972.
Dorothy stayed busy working as a custodian at A. D. Hay School and doing janitorial work for various local businesses. In her spare time she enjoyed baby sitting, knitting and crocheting. She was a part of the group that was instrumental in starting the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Larry Estes.
Dorothy is survived by her husband James of Lakeview; daughters Sheri Morgan of Lakeview and Leticia Bartholomew of Vancouver, Wash.; brother and sister-in-law Charles and JeJei Estes of Lakeview; brother Thomas Stacy of Kansas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Desert Rose Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. with interment in the Sunset Park Cemetery.
