Dorothy Louise Clifton, 84, died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 in Redmond.
Dorothy was born to O. K. and Sarah (McLaughlin) Johnston in Pennsylvania on Feb. 26, 1928. She moved to Turmo, Calif. at a young age and then to New Pine Creek where she attended grammar school. She was a graduate of Modoc High School in Alturas, Calif..
While attending a dance in Davis Creek,Calif. she met Glenn Clifton and they were married at her home in New Pine Creek on Nov. 4, 1950.
Her most important position in life was taking care of her family, although she did work as a teller for the First Interstate Bank in Lakeview for a number of years. She was a true outdoors person who especially enjoyed camping and rock hounding.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;and son Layne Clifton.
Dorothy is survived by: son Terry K. Clifton of Lakeview; son and daughter-in-law Earl Wayne and Patti Clifton of Redmond; grandchildren Steve, Terry Glenn, Brandi Lane, Christopher James Clifton, Ronny S., Tami and Michelle Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Date and time will be announced.
