Edward John Pierson 

Edward John Pierson of Fruitland, Idaho and formerly of Lakeview, departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho.
He was  born Sept. 6, 1927 in Hill City, Idaho to Edward and Hattie Pierson.
Ed grew up in Mountain Home, Idaho. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Eventually Ed moved to Lakeview where he met and married Jean Cartwright in 1950. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He raised his family and ran Ed’s Barber Shop in Lakeview for 58 years. During that time he served 41 years on the Lakeview Disaster Unit as an EMT and was a life-time member of the Elks and Eagles. During his time in Lakeview he enjoyed hunting and fishing with a variety of friends. He was well known as “Ed the Barber” and in many cases cut three generations of hair for the same families. Ed was known and respected for his kindness, quick wit and being a push over to his grandchildren. After retiring Ed and Jean moved to Fruitland to be closer to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents;  brother Cecil Pierson;  sister Alice Ferris; one grandson
Ed is survived by his wife, Jean (Cartwright) Pierson;  sons and daughters-in-law: Gary  and Leta Pierson , Edward and Shawna Pierson  and Thomas and Esther Pierson ;  sisters Thelma Thompson and Frankie Buckley; seven grandchildren; two great -grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at the West Valley Free Methodist Church in Fruitland.
Memorials may be sent in lieu of flowers to the Lakeview Disaster Unit.  Even though Ed had moved to Fruitland, his heart was always in Lakeview with his many friends.
