Elizabeth D. “Betty” Hahn, 86, died in Milwaukie, on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 from natural causes.
Betty was born to George and Elizabeth (Forrest) Dalgetty on Oct. 26, 1923 in Simpson, Col. She grew up in Colorado and met Arthur “Bud” Hahn while he was serving in the Army Air Corps in Denver and on Oct. 13, 1944 they were married in Denver.
She and Bud moved to Vale in 1948 where they operated a dairy until 1967 when they came to Lakeview. Betty worked for a short time at the Lake County Hospital and retired after many years of service as a custodian with Lake County School Dist. #7. She moved to Milwaukie in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Bruce Gilinsky.
Betty enjoyed wintering in Blythe, Calif. with Bud, fishing, cooking, various crafts, working puzzles and her many friends. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud in 1996; one brother and one sister.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Bruce Gilinsky of Milwaukie; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Mary Hahn of Ojai, Calif. and Chuck and Connie Hahn of Lakeview; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Frances Dalgetty of Nampa, Idaho; sister, Elsie Jarvis of Elsinore, Mo.; brother-in-law, Raymond Timberman of Denver; grandchildren and spouses, Carter and Julie Gilinsky of Reno, Chris and Lori Gilinsky of Portland, Darcee and Kyle Thomason of Portland, Mike and Lisa Hahn of LaGrande, Nick and Sue Hahn of Eugene, Buddy and Theresa Hahn of Los Angeles, Beth and Garreth Kazer of Ojai, and Eric Hahn of Lakeview and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be in St. Patrick Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 beginning with the Holy Rosary at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the committal in the Sunset Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Society of America, 4340 East West Hwy Suite 350, Bethesda, Md. 20814-3067 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Desert Rose Funeral Chapel is in charge of the services.
