Ethel Lee Parker, 100, died at the Lake District Long Term Care Facility Friday, Dec. 4, 2009.
Ethel was born March 11, 1909 in Muse, Okla. to John Allen and Sarah Ann (Easter) Barrett. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma.
She went to Madras to visit a friend where she met Clarence Parker. Ethel and Clarence were married in 1936.
The couple moved to the family ranch in Chadron, Neb. following their marriage. They also lived in Wyoming and Idaho prior to moving to Lakeview in 1952.
Ethel enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband. She also enjoyed family get-togethers and dinners during the holidays.
She is survived by her sister Beulah Dooley of Aloha; many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ethel’s life was held at the Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. The interment followed at the family plot at the Sunset Park Cemetery.
Casket Bearers were Floyd Hoyez, Terry McLain, Larry McLain, Charles Hamilton, Rupert Rez and Jerry Bob Hale.
Contributions in memory of Ethel may be made to the Senior Citizens Center at 11 N. G St. Lakeview 97630 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel had charge of the arrangements.
