Lake County Fair Association has developed a 50/50 raffle fundraiser as a dollar-raising venture for continued coverage of varied fair-related expenses.
Fair Association member Kay Wagner said the tickets will be sold through Sunday of this year’s Lake County Fair and Round-Up, which this year will be start on Thursday, Aug. 29, and continue through Monday, Sept. 2.
Wagner said the fundraiser is due to make up for a lack of state funding for fair events and limited available local funds.
Tickets will be available at local businesses, priced at $1 each or six for $5, and the winning ticket drawn will award half of the total cash pot to the ticket holder, with the remaining half dedicated to the Lake County Fair Association.
“We’re also going to ask the local businesses to help sell raffle tickets,” Wagner said.
During the fair weekend, the raffle ticket sales will be moved to the fair office, she noted.
As an incentive for ticket sales, a series of prizes will be warded to the top three businesses selling the raffle tickets. First place is a pair of tickets to this year’s Round-Up concert, which will feature country artist Craig Morgan.
The second place prize is a pair of tickets to the Destruction Derby, while third place is a free parking pass for the entire weekend.
