Fire burns down local barn

Lakeview was awakened late on Tuesday, July 1, by the volunteer fire department siren, a call coming in at 11:03 p.m. for a barn on fire near town.
The Lakeview Fire Department responded to the scene of the fire with two fire engines and a water tender. Thomas Creek Westside Fire Department also reported to the scene with two of their water tenders as well.
Fire crews remained on the scene monitoring the fire until 7 p.m. the next day, with the hay barn being deemed a total loss, as well as a hay truck that was also consumed by the fire.
After the scene of the fire was determined to be completely extinguished, Oregon State Police and the State Fire Marshalls office sent fire investigators to the scene to determine cause and assess damage. It was determined that the fire was accidental in nature. Value of the property lost was not readily available at the time of print.
The owner of the hay barn was Adair Brown out of Davis Creek, Calif. The overseer of the property, Seth Sailors, declined to comment on the fire.
