Former sheriff’s deputy arrested for release agreement violation

Kenneth Dale Turkle, 42, a former Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy, was arrested on Wednesday, June 18, for suspicion of violation of his previous release agreement.

Turkle had resigned in April following an Oregon State Police investigation alleging sexual misconduct with a minor. He pled not guilty and posted bail to charges of third-degree sexual abuse, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, first-degree custodial interference and tampering with a witness.

Turkle was taken into custody following allegations of violating terms of his release agreement after being suspected of recently contacting his previous victim.

Lake County District Attorney’s office stated additional charges could result from the release agreement violation. A status check hearing was held on Monday, June 23, with an arraignment hearing scheduled for Thursday, June 26. A jury trial is expected in July or August, with Turkle likely to be retained in custody following the suspected release agreement violation.
