George “Otis” Mobley, Jr., 68, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Bend.
Otis was born Nov. 22, 1944 in Winslow, Ariz. to Bill and Geneva Mobley, the youngest of three children. His family moved to Lakeview in 1949.
Otis graduated from Lakeview High School in 1963 and served in the Navy as a Sonar Technician. He met Joyce Fenimore while they were in high school and they were married in 1965.
After he was discharged from the Navy, Otis spent his life farming, enjoying caring for the land. He was a Master Mason, served on the Lakeview Water Users Board of Directors and was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges.
Otis was preceded in death by his father, Bill Mobley.
Otis is survived by his wife Joyce; mother Geneva Bengtson; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Tonya Mobley and their children, Rachel and Drew; son Charles (Chuck) Mobley and sons Clyde and Dustin; daughter and son-in-law Sherry (Mobley) and Roy Fouts and their sons Zach and Craig; son Danny O’Conner; brother Bob Mobley; sister Virginia (Ginger) Mobley; father-in-law Clyde Fenimore; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial was held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Lakeview First Baptist Church.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Westside Cemetery, 15188 Westside Rd., Lakeview 97630 or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland 97201-3095.
Desert Rose Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
