Glenn Burt “Bud” Turner

Glenn Burt ‚“Bud” Turner, 83, a lifetime resident of Lakeview died at Lake District Hospital  on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
Mr. Turner was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Medford to George B. and Daisey Turner.
At an early age he moved with his family to Lakeview where he attended the local schools. After his sophomore year he left  school to join the U.S. Navy and serve in World War II.
Upon returning from the service he began operating heavy equipment in construction and logging which he did for the rest of his working career.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.  He especially enjoyed dredging for gold and had built much of the equipment he used in the endeavor. When at home he liked to work with wood, building much of the furniture in the family home.
He is survived by his sons John Turner of Coffee Creek and Raymond Turner of Lakeview; daughters Genevieve Gayle Turner of Lakeview and Lou Britton of Kingman, Ari.;  sister Elaine Hampton of Lake County; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;  one great-great-grandson.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene with interment at the Sunset Cemetery. Reception/potluck luncheon to follow the services.
Memorial contributions may be made the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Dept., C/O  Mark Klunder, 245 N. F St., The Lakeview Disaster Unit, 245 N. F St. or a charity of your choice.
Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
