After some difficulty in deciphering Mr. Jarret’s rambling, incohesive rant, I came to the conclusion that opining in this manner only further supports the notion of taking firearms away from people with extremist views. People like Mr. Jarret.

Yes, Nelson, people do kill people – with that I’ll agree. Although I find it amusing that you, like many misguided right-wing extremists, want to blame video games and horror movies, ‘the government’ and anything else that supports your world view instead of the real culprit: BAD PARENTING.

Bad parenting has, over generations, created problems beyond which suppressing Americans'access to firearms will solve. We fundamentally agree on this point. OF COURSE it isn't the OBJECT used in a crime that is to blame. Informed citizens already realize this, since it's simply basic logic. You are lending nothing of value to this important argument.

With your overstated, hypothetical and radical suggestions, you are taking away from what little credibility you may have had in the first place. Are you an expert in criminology, Nelson? If so, my guess is it's from a perspective of being a defendant. Your previously written statements prove my point. Your views make you exactly the kind of person that need not have access to a firearm. For our safety, and for yours.

I’m all for protecting the Second Ammendment. The problem I have is with the wrong people embracing and representing the movement for the rest of us. We moderate, informed citizens that wish to keep our firearms don’t want America to see YOU when they think of gun-rights advocates. Anybody with a brain in their head would take one good honest look at you: leather jacket with motorcycle gang paraphernalia, unshaven and unkempt, drunken, smoking, jobless and uneducated… and decide that ‘this’ is not the best advocate for our very important right to bear arms.

Get a new pet pony, Nelson; or better yet: get a job!

Yours,

Mr. L. Chandler - Mayor of Valley Falls
