Hall Motors teams up with Soroptimists to Save Our Pool

Jeff and Patsy Hall, owners and operators of Hall Motor Company, are happy to announce their usage of Ford’s Drive 4 UR Community program.

A press release in last week’s paper got word out to the community about the collaboration efforts between the Soroptimists and Hall Motors, but the origin story of the idea is worth noting.

At the beginning of the year, Ford unveiled its Drive 4 UR Community Program, which was designed after its Drive 4 UR School Program that has risen up to $16 million to date for high schools around the country.

The new program operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, for Ford-sponsored auto retailers around the country.

Ford requires that its branches who sign up do so in conjunction with a 501(c)3, nonprofit  organization and have a plan in place for where it plans to donate its funds. Hall Motor Company, with the help of the Soroptimists of Lakeview, signed up immediately, and heard word in late February that it would be granted a spot in the program, which will donate $20 for every test drive of a Ford vehicle on the date of Friday, May 17, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. up to a maximum of $6,000.

Shortly after hearing the news, the Halls and the Soroptimists met to discuss the possible candidates to receive the money.

With Mayor Mike Patrick and Town Mgr. Ray Simms making a lot of headway but still needing additional assistance with the Save Our Pool fund, a decision was made between Hall Motors and the Soroptimists to earmark the money for the rejuvenation of the pool.

“We feel very good about giving back to the wonderful community in which we are blessed to be a part,” said Patsy. Not unlike the Soroptimists, Hall Motors has quite a history of donating to the community. Lake County Roundup & Fair, Little League Baseball, bowling teams, Union School, Junior Rodeo, Mile High Bass Fishing Derby, Oregon Hunters Association and Ducks Unlimited, to name some of the recipients, have all received money from Hall Motors since the auto retailer first opened its doors in 1994.

Drive 4 UR Community is as helpful to the community as is it is easy. Participants need only show up, meet with a Hall Motors or Soroptimists representative, test drive a vehicle for 7-10 minutes, and Ford Motor Co., Hwy 140 W, will donate $20 for every test drive done throughout the day.
