Henry Ray Schadler

Henry Ray Schadler, 66, passed away in Reno, Nev. on Nov. 15, 2013.

He was born Jan. 26, 1947 to George R. and Doris Parman-Schadler in Alturas, Calif. He attended Elementary school in Lake City, Calif. and graduated from Surprise Valley High School, Cedarville, Calif. in 1965.

Immediately following high school, he joined the United States Navy and made three tours to Vietnam on the Everett F. Larson. He was officially discharged from the Navy April 26, 1971.

In 1968, he married Linda Dollarhide Schadler. In 1969, he and Linda moved back to Lake City to start ranching. To this union were born two daughters Julie Lynn Schadler-Gilinsky and Carrie Ann Schadler. Henry was always proud of his family including his two grandsons Kyle William Schadler and Vincent Ray Darrough.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Georgia Schadler Benner, niece Marian Benner and brother-in-law Billy Dolan.

Henry is survived by his wife Linda of Fort Bidwell, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Carter Gilinsky of Reno, Nev. and daughter Carrie Schadler of Alturas, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Gene Davi of Medford; grandsons Kyle Schadler of Reno, Nev. and Vincent Darrough of Alturas, Calif.; six nieces and two nephews, eight great-nieces, 10 great-nephews, one great-great-niece and many friends.

There will be a memorial service for Henry Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Fort Bidwell church at 1:00 p.m. with a gathering at the Civic Hall following the service.
