Holiday Opening, Tree lighting, this Sunday

November 27, 2013 by

A few details have been finalized, and Lakeview’s annual tree lighting ceremony is due for this Sunday, Dec. 1 at the corner of north 2nd and F streets.

At 6:00 p.m., the evening’s festivities kick off with the lighting of the Christmas tree, caroling by Sagebrush Echoes, a reading of “The Christmas Story” by local Pastor Eric Sarensen and a recitation of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ by Kathie Duggan.

Following a rendition of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ from the carolers, Santa himself is due to make an appearance at the ceremony around 6:30 p.m. Afterward, hot chocolate and cookies will be served just up 2nd Street at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce.

Holiday decorations are already in place around the downtown area, and will be lit up before the ceremony on Dec. 1.
