Lakeview Home Health & Hospice will host their second annual “It’s About How You Live” sprint triathlon event on Saturday, Aug. 17.
The event, which serves as a motivational aide in promoting healthy lifestyles, features running, bicycling and swimming components.
Last year’s event drew in a total of 49 entrants, according to Home Health & Hospice’s Dir. of Professional Services, Krista Harrington.
Entries are accepted right up to the morning of the event, with sign-ups held from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
The triathlon, which will begin at 9 a.m., can be run as a two or three person relay or as individual participation, and will start at the Town of Lakeview’s community park near the swimming pool.
A kid’s quarter mile race will be held at 11:30 a.m., with awards issued at 11:45 a.m.The swimming course consists of eight laps in the town swimming pool. Kick boards and other swimming aides are allowed.The bicycling course is pre-determined commencing forth from and returning to the pool, while the running course is all pavement through town.
Both are open to traffic but are lightly traveled. The running course features two busy intersection crossings. Awards will be presented to the top three men, top three women and top three relay teams in each event.
All participating children will receive an award for the kids race.
Pre-race day packet pickups will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at the park.
