LakeRidge Golf Course will once again host the Jennie Welch Memorial Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, July 26 starting at 1 p.m.
Sponsored by the LakeRidge Men’s and Ladies clubs, it will be the eighth time the tournament is held honoring Welch, an avid golfer who died of cancer. A bench at the golf course is dedicated in Welch’s memory.
The format of the tournament is a four-person team handicap scramble through nine holes.
Registration for the tournament is $35 per person before July 25, $40 the day of, and only $15 for participants age 16 and under. Registration fees include golf, dinner and prizes.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Lakeview High School golf team and a to-be-determined charity. In the past the tournament has supported funding for defibrillators at the Lakeview Municipal Pool and Warner Ski Hill, the Oregon Outback Humane Society and Lakeview Little League. Prizes will be given out for longest drive, accuracy, closest to the pin and the top three teams.
