Joanne Kathryn Stringer, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2013.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1932 in Allentown, Penn. where she grew up and received her education. After graduating from high school, she joined the Marines where she met and shortly after married her true love, the Late Roy Roland Stringer Sr.. They had two sons, Roy and John Stringer. They lived in Fallbrook, Calif. until 1968, Prescott, Ariz. from 1968-1976 when they moved to New Pine Creek, where they called home until the time of her death.
She was a loving mother whose fondest memories came from watching her two boys play baseball. She enjoyed Square Dancing and had a real passion for her kitties.
Joanne was always involved in many businesses but was mostly recognized for being co-founder and owner of Stringer’s Orchard Winery and Distillery, located in New Pine Creek.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Stringer Sr.; son Roy Stringer Jr..
She is survived by her son John Stringer; daughter-in-law Valerie Stringer; grandchildren Justine Stringer, Danielle Stringer and Raquel and Chris Parker; grandson Royce and Holly Stringer; great-grandsons Karson and Brennan Stringer.
She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at the Lakeview First Baptist Church on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a potluck in the fellowship hall following the service.
