A consistent lead bolstered by a particularly strong third period earned the Paisley Lady Broncos a victory against Gilchrist, 67-44, on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Leading 27-17 at the half, Paisley continued their scoring charge by outscoring their opponents 23 points to 15 points, respectively, during the third period, and 17 points to 12 points in the final period.
The game was a landmark for Tess O’Leary, who for the first time in her career broke the 30-point mark in a single game with 33 points total. She also landed eight of 15 three-pointers.
“We’ve been waiting all season for her to find her range,” said head coach Michael Jones.
Mattee Vickerman and Jessica Arrington scored 14 points and 13 points, respectively. Arrington bagged 10 rebounds, seven of which were on the defensive end, Jones said.
On Friday, Jan. 25, Paisley defeated the visiting Butte Falls squad, 48-33.
Scoring was led by Tess O’Leary with 25 points and Mattee Vickerman with 10 points.
Head coach Michael Jones attributed the win to a collective cohesion by the team, and a defensive pack that has tightened up over the course of the season.
