Lakeview Girls Varsity basketball fell to the Lost Rivers Raiders on Tuesday, Jan. 21 on Honker Court. At half-time the Honkers were trailing by four, and efforts fell short to overtake the Raiders. Delaney Hall led the Honkers with 12 points and Tori Crumrine contributed seven rebounds for Lakeview. The final score was 45-33.
Friday, Jan. 24. Lakeview defeated the Cascade Christian Challengers, in a 48-43 game in a Southern Cascade League matchup. The fate of the game came down to the effort put forth in the fourth quarter.
Delaney Hall led the Honkers in scoring with 13 points, five assists along with five steals. Amanda Arcularius contributed 13 points and Carley Cahill had eight points and 13 rebounds. Lakeview also had an impressive demonstration from the free-throw line completing 12-of-17 shots.
On Saturday, Jan., 25, the Lakeview Girls battled on the court against the Hosanna Christian Lions, 51-44, in a nonleague game. The Lions did in fact outscore the Honkers in all but the third quarter, but that quarter is what decided the game in Honker favor. The Honkers outscored the Lions 17-4 in the third quarter, which sealed the fate of the game.
Delaney Hall and Amanda Arcularius led the Honkers in points, Hall with 14 and Arcularius with 15 for a total of 29 points collectively. The Honkers turned the ball over just six times during the course of the game, where as the Lions turned the ball over a whopping 24 times.
The Honkers played at Rogue River on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and will host Illinois Valley on Friday, Jan. 31 on Honker Court at 5:30 p.m.
