Lady Honkers show their grit as they trounced St. Mary’s Tuesday, Feb. 4 in a not-even-close game – 47 to 36 holding the Crusaders at bay during the entire game. The girls showed what they could do as, at the time, the Crusaders were unbeaten making this win even sweeter.
LHS Honker girls were well matched in 3-point efforts. Both teams kept from fouling out although the Crusaders almost doubled the tally of personal fouls.
When the Lady Honkers went up against Bonanza on Friday, Feb. 7, it was a different story, suffering a 49 – 58 loss, despite a 13 point lead at the half.
Coach Brandi Harris reported that many of the team had been ill and, if there was a game to lose on the way to the playoffs, that would have been the one as a non-conference event.
Harris said, “We struggled, but they played a good game.” As she preps her team to take on Cascade Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Rogue River on the all-important Senior Night, Friday, Feb., 14, in two games that could decide the Lady Honkers playoff hopes.
