Lake County School Dist.#7 approves new hires

Before former Principal Bob Nash left his post at Lakeview High School, he agreed to help the incumbent Steve Prock hire on two new staff members to help replace Greg Kelly and Sean Radford.

As of Monday, July 8, Prock recommended those two new hires to the School Board in its first meeting of the month, and the Board gladly approved.

The first new hire is Rick Stupak, who will be the Social Studies teacher and new head Football Coach for the Honkers. He is an Oregon native and graduate of Milwaukie High School, achieving his undergraduate degree from Beloit College in Wisconsin  Stupak has been a substitute teacher in the Multnomah, Canby, and Central Catholic School Districts while earning his Masters Degree. He has also worked at the collegiate level as an associate media relations director in the Athletic Office at the University of Mississippi and Portland State University. Stupak spent the last six years as part of the football staff at Central Catholic High School.

The second new hire is Jay Glasmann, who will be “the utility guy,” according to Prock, and will teach English for Speakers of Other Languages, Language Arts, and Social Studies at LHS. With a recent Masters Degree from Willamette University, Glasmann will have a hand in everything. A graduate of Corvallis High School, Glasmann completed his undergraduate degree at both Utah Valley State University and Brigham Young University. His student teaching was done at both middle school and high school levels in the Corvallis School District. “Jay will be a great fit for our students and among our staff and community,” Prock said. “I am confident he will be an outstanding young teacher.”

Bret Prock has also been hired on to be the assistant football coach and head baseball coach, but will be working at the elementary school level for teaching.
