Lights? Check. Camera? Affirmative. Action? Should be plenty.
The curtain rises on the third annual edition of the ‘Lake County’s Got Talent’ contest, sponsored and coordinated by the Lake County Youth Mentor Program, come Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Daly Middle School auditorium.
Tickets for the event are $7 each at the door, or four tickets for $25. The doors open at 6 p.m., with the program starting at 6:30 p.m.
Bob Pardee will serve as the master of ceremonies for the evening. Refreshments will be available for purchase, and a 50/50 raffle will also be held during the course of the night.
Early word received indicated that the audience can expect a special appearance by notable celebrities Kenny Rogers, Cher and (the ghost of?) Sonny Bono.
Entertainment acts during the night range from musical performances to dancing, percussion, poetry and lip-synching.
There are four age divisions, plus a non-judged open category that is new for this year. Age groups include 6 to 10 years, 11 to 15 years, 16 to 20 years and 21 years and over.
Cash prizes will be given in the judged divisions.
As of Monday, Feb. 3, an estimated 30 participants had registered for the competition.
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the local talent!
All proceeds raised from the event support the continuation of the Lake County Youth Mentor Program.
