A familiar local automotive service shop is now under new ownership, and by a familiar face, no less.
Jared Brewster recently acquired Lakeview Auto Repair from John and Ella Roberts, a move that officially took effect as of Monday, Feb. 17.
Brewster worked for the shop under Roberts’ ownership for two years, and holds a breadth of experience dating back several years prior. His resume of automotive experience includes a year as manager of a Big O Tire Shop location in Lake Havasu, Ariz., as well as a builder of Caterpillar engines for a year in Redmond.
Brewster said that part of his interest in buying the business stemmed from a desire to remain in the local community.
“When the opportunity comes along to buy a successful business in the field you want to be in, you kind of jump on it,” he said.
Brewster said he earned his training on the job working for Roberts, as well as over six years total through other jobs. He is also ASE certified in engine, suspension & steering, brakes and heating/air conditioning divisions, and will test for an additional four certifications soon.
Not so surprising is the fact that Roberts is a ‘car guy’ at heart, with a particular passion for off-road racing and rock crawling. He is also involved with the High Country 4-Wheelers Club, based in Lakeview.
“Anything off-road,” he said.
Services at the shop run the gamut from a simple oil change all the way up to a full engine replacement, Brewster said. From rebuilding differentials to brake work, Lakeview Auto Repair continues to do virtually anything and everything related to a car.
“Just about everything but body work,” he said. “Being trained by John, I know Ford vehicles really well.”
Brewster’s previous experience with Caterpillar equipment bred familiarity with Cummins diesel engines, as well.
Brewster noted that customers can look for a variety of service and maintenance tips on the Lakeview Auto Repair Facebook page.
