A hard fought game by Lakeview against the St. Mary’s boy’s soccer team took place in Medford on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 4:00 p.m. The game ended in overtime with St. Mary’s on top, scoring two goals to the Lakeview’s one.
The St. Mary’s Crusaders scored first, making a goal in the 21st minute of the game. Lakeview didn’t score their first and only goal until the second half.
Connor Lysne was the one who made the goal from Lakeview’s side with an assist from Dominic Leal on a corner kick to equalize. Neither side scored for the remainder of the regular game time.
After entering overtime, St. Mary’s scored in the 85th minute of the game.
“Overall, a tough game to play on the road – and on field turf – against the 6th ranked team in the state,” said the Lakeview coach, Jim Nicholl, “The kids played a great second half and almost came up with the upset.”
