Lakeview girl’s volleyball team played two games against teams from Rogue River and Cascade Christian on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the SCL playoffs tournament.
Lakeview beat both teams, winning in four games against Rogue River and beating Cascade in five.
With their win against Cascade, Lakeview sits at the number one seeding for their league. The Lakeview coach, BJ Albertson, said it was the best game he’s seen the team play.
“They played with the heart and passion for the game that we have been seeking all year,” said the coach, “This was a team effort to get this win on the road.”
Albertson said that Cascade came back in the third and fourth sets with a furious attack. “The Lakeview girls fought through the two sets and never gave up,” he noted,
“In the fifth set we were down 11-6 when Amanda Arcularius started serving. We had them in one of their weaker rotations and we were able to score 9 straight points to win the fifth set 15-11.”
Lakeview may have their first round of the state-level playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 2, at home, according to Albertson. He also stated that several parents and fans thought the Cascade game was some of the best Lakeview volleyball they have seen.
