It’s coming down to the wire, and as little as a $20 ticket could earn some lucky goose prizes worth thousands of dollars.
Cash prizes and numerous items are up for grabs such as a Polaris 4×4 and a 50” HD television if a duck with the matching number to a ticket crosses the line first at the Wild Goose Chase, slated for Saturday, July 12. Drews Creek campground near Drews Reservoir will be the site of the big drop at noon, when rubber goslings get dumped in the creek vying to be the fastest swimmer. The annual fundraiser hopes to raise thousands of dollars for the Rotary’s youth soccer field project.
Ticket holders don’t need to be present in order to win, but are encouraged to join in the fun, with barbecue and refreshments available during the festivities. Tickets are available for purchase from any Rotary Club member, as well as at Dan’s Auto Sales, True Value, Pacific Crest Credit Union, Sterling Bank, Don Liddycoat CPA, Arrow Realty and Favell-Utley.
Sponsors who have donated prizes include Ed Staub & Sons Petroleum, Pro Build, SS Equipment, True Value, Aspen Ridge, the 39er Store, Town of Lakeview, Les Schwab and Safeway.
