LCSD7 receives $1,000 donation for reader board

Lake County School District No. 7 received a bit of good news during their Monday, March 11, regular board meeting, as the Lake County Cultural Coalition announced a donation of $1,000 toward an electronic reader board project.

“I thought it was a wonderful donation, and wanted to let you know that Mr. (Bob) Squires is still out there (soliciting donations),” said Supt. Sean Gallagher.

The funds will be dedicated to a community electronic reader board project that will be utilized for announcing activities and events within the community.

The board also enjoyed a special video presentation from a recent Portland awards ceremony in which Lakeview High School track and field coach Bobbie Steninger received the Game Changer Award for her five decades of service within the community.

“I’m just lucky to be in such a special place,” Steninger said. “I’m glad to be here.”

George Wilbur with the Oster Professional Group provided a presentation on the recent audit of the district’s 2011-12 fiscal year. Wilbur answered questions on the audit report, including how to interpret the information provided.
