Lake District Hospital Auxiliary members will host their annual spring Card Party fundraiser event on Saturday, April 26, at the Lakeview Elks Lodge, located at 323 N. F St.
The event is open to the general public with an entry fee of $10 per person, and is slated to begin at noon. Pinochol, bridge and bunco will be the games of choice, and the event will also feature a number of door prizes, raffles and desserts.
Examples of door prizes include an array of treasure boxes, a crystal perfume bottle, a $25 gift certificate for El Aguila Real Mexican Restaurant donated by an auxiliary member and a crocheted afghan.
The Card Party is one of two primary fundraisers hosted by the auxiliary, with proceeds dedicated to the purchase of medical equipment for Lake District Hospital.
The Lake District Hospital is an all-volunteer based organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the welfare of Lake District Hospital. It’s support mechanisms for the hospital go far beyond simply fundraising activities, as the group also participates in bingo and birthday parties and its members often serve as assist with volunteer efforts in the Long-Term Care unit.
Members also often assist visitors as they arrive in the hospital’s lobby, and other community outreach efforts include the annual Daly Days Community Health Fair and Red Cross blood drive events.
The group meets on the first Monday of each month at Lake District Hospital. Membership dues range from $5 for active members to $100 for lifetime members. Current officers include Christy Tveit, president, Cecilia Montgomery, vice president, Joyce Collins, secretary, and Sharon Hiatt, treasurer.
