Lakeview High School’s second track meet of the season featured stellar performances by the LHS throwers at the Medford Rotary Relays on Saturday, April 5.
Junior Delaney Hall finished first overall in the javelin competition with a throw of 139’8”, a new personal best and school record, ranking her fifth in the United States. She was also sixth in pole vault with a new personal record height clearance of 8’6”.
Junior Miranda Conley also made her presence well known in several events, finishing ninth in javelin with a throw of 107’4”, fourth in shot put at 32’5.5”, and fifth in discus at 96’10”. Saylor Antle also placed in the javelin with a distance of 29’9”. Conley and Antle’s distances in javelin were both personal records.
For the men’s team Steven Hedlund was the top LHS finisher on the day, earning eighth in the 1-mile at 5:08.74. Nick Wiebelhaus also placed in the 1-mile with a time of 5:24.70. Hedlund’s time was a new LHS school record.
Connor Lysne placed well in both the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 17’2” and 36’5” respectively. Marco Guitron, Rennie Neider and Austin Webb also placed in events.
In the 1-mile two LHS women placed well, Lily Sabin finishing eighth with a time of 6:20.14, and Jessica Theall placing eleventh at 7:20.90. Jenna Davis finished eleventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.24. Sabin’s time set a new LHS school record mark.
LHS Track and Field Coach Bobbie Steninger was very pleased with her team following the meet, seeing many student-athletes achieve new individual marks and progressing well in their training.
Lakeview High School hosted the Lakeview 4-way on Tuesday, April 8. The team next travels to Burns for the Oster Memorial Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
