The Lakeview High School girls volleyball team had another busy week with games on Tuesday, Sept. 17 against Illinois Valley, Thursday, Sept. 19 against Chiloquin, and a tournament in Bandon on Saturday, Sept. 21. The varsity girls did very well in both their weekday matches, beating Illinois Valley and Chiloquin three games to none.
Illinois Valley was the first opponent the Lakeview volleyball team faced in their league. The girls played both their Tuesday and Thursday games at home, traveling to Bandon for the Saturday tournament.
At their weekend tournament, the girls won three matches against teams from Coquille, Riddle and Yoncalla. Lakeview went on to lose to Bandon in the semifinals, winning their first game and losing the next two.
Their coach, BJ Albertson, said the girls had a great tournament, taking Coquille in two games at 25 to 12 and 25 to 24, beating Riddle with scores of 25 to 13 and 25 to 16 in their two games, and winning against Yoncalla 25 to 13 and 25 to 12.
Lakeview’s first game against Bandon went well, with the girls winning 25 to 21, but they lost the next two with scores of 22 to 25 and a final game to 15 points where Bandon made 15 and the Lakeview team scored 10.
